James Wright // Producer, Director
James Wright is an accomplished producer and director with a strong track record across BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Netflix, Discovery, and UKTV. Since 2012, he has developed factual programming on topics like space, physics, engineering, history, and human interest. In the past five years, James has worked across Europe and the U.S., capturing stories in remote regions, hazardous environments, and high-security locations such as NASA and the Large Hadron Collider.
Known for finding stories in unexpected places, James has explored the civil rights impact of professional wrestling in an abandoned arena and the dramatic life of a proton at CERN. His work spans diverse environments—from volcanic lava tubes and freezing tundra to operating theatres and abandoned buildings—bringing complex science to life with clarity, humor, and dramatic storytelling.
James’ recent credits include Tony Robinson’s Marvellous Machines (UKTV/Intl.), Hitler’s Engineers: Building the Third Reich (Sky History/Intl.), and Secrets of the Lost Ark (Discovery+, ITV). Outside of television, he is a space geek, enthusiastic cook, and LEGO collector.
